GAOTS
|
(2017) Team project (Sparklepony++), Gamejam
|
Description
GAOTS (or Guardian Angels Of The Storm) is a VR game for three people. One of the players wears the headset and is attacked by waves, while the other two players have a controller that functions as a shield. Because the players with shields don't know where the waves are coming, communication between them and the player with the headset is extremely important. I made this game for the Global Game Jam 2017 with team Sparklepony (& friends). Local multiplayer games in VR are incredibly interesting, as players are literally interacting with different realities. Having made a game for this was a lot of fun and allowed me to learn a lot more about interactions in VR. Current state
Finished (prototype) - 2017 I'm very happy with how the game turned out. It needs some tweaking and work done on clarity, but the game was a lot of fun to play very early on already. |

WarpThrough (v0.1)
|
(2016) Solo project
|
Description
As I am quite a fan of platformers, and really like simplistic combat in those - I wanted to try create my own take on it. It also allowed me to fully work on all areas of a project again, which was a nice change from projects with big teams. Working on it taught me a lot about tweaking platformers, as well as setting up proper systems for enemies and attacks in Unity. I turned it into an actual project, and finished it!

Meteorena
|
(2016) Solo project
|
Description
Meteorena is a game I created to get better acquainted with android development in Unity, and to try out an idea I had for a touchscreen-based game. It has a lot of focus on making a single action have multiple purposes. I learned a lot about creating a game by myself in Unity using C#, as well as learning a lot about making something for touchscreen devices. Experimenting with input gave some valuable experiences. Current state
Prototype This was a nice exercise making a personal project for mobile devices in Unity. Might continue on it another time, but it was already quite useful. |
In-editor footage for ease of recording.

Pair of Heroes
|
(2016) Team project
|
Description
PoH is a game about exploring a floating island, and saving it from destruction. You choose one out of three partners to team up with, and depending on who you choose you can travel and explore the island in a different way. I was able to do some very interesting level design for this, making intertwined paths that could be accessed under different conditions and filling the level with a lot of secrets. It was a lot of fun and helped me hone my level design skills. Current state
Development postponed Sadly we couldn't continue with this project for school. We were very keen on continuing - but as it has quite a large scope we would need to be able to work on this as a primary project to complete it properly. |
PEUVR
|
(2016) Solo project, Gamejam
|
Description
Punch 'Em Up VR, or PEUVR is a game I made in about 15 hours during the Ludum Dare gamejam for the HTC Vive. I had been working with roomscale VR for about three weeks and was very eager to try making something by myself for it. The gamejam was a perfect opportunity for this. Without access to VR I was still able to make quite a decent submission for the Ludum Dare. You can find the project on the LDJam site here! Current state
Demo This project was a nice experience to try out what I could make with VR, it was great to see how easy it is to work with the Vive using Unreal. For anyone who is interested in trying it out and has access to a Vive, you can find the game on itch.io. |

A Jolly Jumble
|
(2016) Team project (Sparklepony+), Gamejam
|
Description
A Jolly Jumble is an endless flying game where the player has to keep flying upwards, avoiding asteroids and refilling their fuel - while their controls constantly change. We made it with team Sparklepony for the Ludum Dare gamejam. I made an initial prototype for it and spent quite some time balancing it near the end of the jam, and I'm very proud of what we ended up making! Current state
Finished It ended up being quite a fun little gamejam project, which you can find right here: https://sparklepony.itch.io/a-jolly-jumble |
Da vinci-ballista
|
(2015) Solo project
|
Description
The Ballista was made during my first half year at the NHTV and was my first experience with 3D modeling and texturing. It is also one of the few 3D models I was able to spent quite some time working on, as most of the modeling / texturing work I do lately is for gamejams or smaller projects. I gained a lot of experience in modeling, UVing, texturing, and working with normalmaps throughout this project. Current state
Finished - 2015 I completed the assignment with a 9/10 for modeling and 9.5/10 for texturing, and I'm still quite proud of having this as a first model. |
